Barbera
Barbera is a red grape variety from north-west Italy and one of Piemonte''s most important everyday-to-premium grapes. It is known for vivid acidity, juicy red and black cherry fruit, moderate tannins and a naturally food-friendly profile. The classic regions are Barbera d''Asti, Barbera d''Alba and other parts of Piemonte, though the grape is also found elsewhere in Italy and abroad. Depending on yield and ageing, Barbera can be bright and casual or dense, polished and oak-aged.
