Wieninger Ried Ulm-Nussberg Wiener Gemischter Satz DAC. 2024 0,75l
Ried Ulm is Wieninger’s steep monopole on the eastern Nussberg, directly beside the Danube. Extremely calcareous shell limestone over limestone gives this Wiener Gemischter Satz a saline mineral core and vivid tension. Nine grape varieties grow interplanted, are hand-picked together and are vinified as one. The biodynamically farmed vineyard still contains fossil shells and snails from a Tertiary coral reef. Ageing in cooled stainless steel and large used oak, followed by extended time on fine lees, brings texture and balance. Meadow herbs, fresh apple, mango, orange zest and a touch of blossom honey shape the aroma. It is a distinctive partner for braised beef, roast poultry and savoury Viennese dishes, available to discover at Vinofant.
