Clos de los Siete is a pioneering project in Argentina’s Uco Valley, created by consultant Michel Rolland and uniting the finest lots from several estates in one wine. The blend is driven by malbec and completed by merlot, cabernet sauvignon, syrah, petit verdot and cabernet franc. High-altitude vineyards on poor, stony soils and a marked day–night temperature range provide ripe yet vibrant fruit. Partial ageing in French oak adds structure and spice. The bouquet offers blackberry, blueberry and ripe plum alongside violet, baking spices and a touch of dark chocolate. On the palate Clos de los Siete is full-bodied, supple and energetic, with polished tannins and refreshing acidity.
Ageing for 11 months, mostly in French oak and partly in tank, combines generous fruit with elegant structure.
